A Different Band In Every City? Yes, a Different Band. In Every City.

alright, well it would appear, retrospectating on it, that I can’t quite organize all thm Thoughts on the Thirty-Three Tour I was startin to try to get down, video-wise, yesterday.  Perhaps my old friend the Printed Werd will serve me better…

so, you see, this time round, we, yr ole pal TheseUS, are mixing it up even more than we have before.  While our DC-based ‘mates Wenk and Winston and Read hold down the fort on the home-front, sculpting away in great heaving beautiful broad swathes and strokes at their own musical projects (Winston’s taking classical guitar lessons these days, don’t you know?!), Tom and me and Robby are headed out as envoys to the Larger (or at least Further) Musical World.  The three of us are gonna play with a different “backing band” every night — tho I’ve hesitated to use that phrase, cause I don’t think it gives enough credit to the Serious Impact each and every new gang will have on our set — but, at any rate, a new and totally unique line-up for These United States in every city!  not just playing on the BILL with these other folks, see, but actually on our own SET, too…

now, of course, some of these are good old friends who we’ve known for many a moon – gonna meet Vandaveer out on those long and winding Midwestern roads, the kids from Marionette and The Great White Jenkins down in Richmond, Cartright in Austin of course, friends from Afuche up in NYC and even the Mega-Beast Formerly Known as And The Furies Say out in El Paso…but then we’re also gonna team up with lotsa new faces whose tunes we’re just hotdamn psyched on – The Peekers in Shreveport and Musee Mecanique outta (into?) Portland, Great American (appropriately enough) up Minneapolis way, maybe even get to croon a tune or three (that’s the Magic Number, see? ;) with Pieta Brown in Iowa City…who can even tell how it’s all gonna pan out, really?  well, actually, hopefully YOU’ll be able…

cause, all else fails, our dear pals Jared Varava and Miguel Soria – also known to the writing and music worlds as Monadnoc – will be gettin the whole thing down on (proverbial) tape.  Video, really.  perhaps they’ll make something beautiful out of it.  maybe the whole dumb experiment will just fall apart in front of our eyes, leaving us helpless, busted shells of our former selves.  These things happen.  Most things happen.  We hope you’ll come out and make em happen with us.  in that sense, in this great big wild whirlwind of a Picture of the Three of Us, you’re kinda like the most important band member there is…

Cheers, you!
